Had my first official studio session in Carlsbad last night at Danny Ways beach house. It was a dope as it sounds to anyone who grew up rockin DC shoes and riding a skateboard. Let me back track on this for those who don’t know how I got to this moment: I ran into Scott Russo (Unwritten Law) outside of The Saloon in Encinitas, Ca. He asked me about my shoes & I asked him about living the life and Unwritten Law. Dude was dope. He kicked a flow and I kicked one back. Unfortunately his house had recently burned down and he had relocated to Carlsbad into Danny’s beach house. So after adding him on FB, I really set my mind on trying to get legitimate studio time with a truly talented/successful writer & producer with 25 years of experience under his belt. YEE. Holler if you hear me.
I met up with Russo and his female entourage (jk…kinda) at a sushi restaurant and sampled some killer cuisine, like a g. We proceeded to the studio up the street at Dans pad. Mapped out the track in protools & we began making a really rad song that I’m damn proud of creating. No lies, it was seriously next level shit seeing Russo singing and learning my lyrics/melodies and trying to get me to perfect them to the syllable. True producer on the protools. Did some editing tricks that he clearly picked up over the length of his career and took my demo version of “Loyal” and polished it into something really royal. Learned a lot in the 4 hour studio session last night.
I’m recording my first professional demo with Scott Russo. This will be my packaged & tangible product that I can put in the hands of anyone who is willing to listen with open ears. No set date for the next recording session, I plan on writing 2 more songs to put on the demo. All new material for the new year.

Video I filmed a few years ago at a house party under the influence of absinthe. My friend brought the garage down trying to swing on shelves like a monkey. It was an unfortunate event, but it is still comical footage that we will have for years. We just watched it tonight and felt like it should be shared with the general public.
